Description

GREY MORAY 2: 11/94. A grey moray (Gymnothorax nubilus) at Middle Arch, Poor Knights Islands Marine Reserve, off the north-east coast of Northland, New Zealand. The grey moray is the smallest and slightest of New Zealand moray eels, averaging 40-60 cm in length. It is common around the islands of the north-east coast and the Bay of Plenty, and is especially abundant at the Poor Knights.
